Body Logic Dance Company creates classes, performance, and choreographic opportunities for professional dancers. As a means to further our development and integrate our talent and passion into the dance community, we seek out opportunities to extend innovative art to a far-reaching spectrum of audiences through a variety of venues. We aim to provide our dancers teaching and community enhancing opportunities. We supply this experience to the public, It is our intention to enlighten, inform, provoke, and uplift our community. We endeavor to fascinate, inspire, entertain and indulge our audiences. In this our noble education, Body Logic Dance strives to enrich society by bridging the gaps between art and life.
About the Company
Body Logic Dance Company (BLDC) was founded by Utah Valley University Alumni in 2009, and is currently under the direction of Artistic Directors Melanie Francom and Serena Webb. The company has expanded to include dancers and graduates from many Universities. BLDC has held two concerts per year, a fall and spring show, and host their annual Choreography Dance Festival. The festival features choreography from professional and semi-professional choreographers. BLDC's works to allow passionate dancers the opportunity to continue education, and provide space to cultivate a craft they love and treasure.
Company members take class and rehearse Monday/Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Their technique classes are influenced by the techniques of Graham, Limon', Horton, and Cunningham. Choreography is created by staff, company members, and guests artists chosen by directors.
